Free Intro Class options:

JOIN A regular
class

Attend one of our regular classes throughout the week, including Sunday morning and Saturday morning outdoors (schedule found here).

This option is more for those who want to get right in to hands-on learning.  It involves more physical experience with partner(s) and less explanation from a first-day student's perspective.

SCHEDULE A 1-ON-1
SESSION

Schedule a time with us outside of our regular class times.  If during the week, it works best to do this in the hour before our regular class starts = 5-6pm.

The one-on-one can be more tailored to what you want to look at; it's an opportunity for much more discussion of context and background of the art (history, explanation of concepts etc).

Please send an email to info@aikidoinstitute.org to schedule your Free Intro class.
Please do not show up to the dojo for an Intro without contacting us first.

AIKIDO INSTITUTE COVID-19 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Aikido Institute follows the Alameda County Dept. of Public Health Covid-19 guidelines. We monitor regulations and adjust our class offerings to remain in compliance. We provide the safest environment we can (i.e. ventilation, air filtration, CO2 monitoring, CDC-approved cleaners, indoor and outdoor classes, etc.). Students understand they train at their own risk.

Currently, we adhere to the following safety guidelines for all students:
  • Vaxx Requirement: Our classes are restricted to only those who are fully vaccinated and have the 1st booster + 2 weeks. All students and instructors have provided proof of full vaccination + booster.
  • Masks - Indoor Classes: Masks are optional but strongly encouraged. Some instructors may require masks in specific classes.
  • Masks - Outdoor Classes: optional
  • Be Vocal: At all times, students are encouraged to be vocal with their training partners about their own safety needs and considerations.
  • Assess: Students are encouraged to keep up-to-date with the news and make their own risk-assessment when coming to class.
  • Guidelines when returning to train after positive Covid test: Isolate for 5-7 days from onset of symptoms. Once symptoms have faded and fever has resolved for at least 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medications, such as Tylenol/ibuprofen), test until you have either 2 consecutive, negative home/rapid tests taken 24 hours apart OR one negative PCR test.
