Aikido Institute's Sunday morning yoga classes are led by dojo member Simona Balan. The classes are focused on core strengthening and often incorporate Pilates and other exercises in addition to stretching. Simona will adjust the instruction to the needs of whoever is in attendance.

Instructor
Simona Balan, completed a yoga teacher training with Shy Sayar from Yoga One in 2009, and in 2010 she was certified as a meditation instructor by Lama Nyima from the School of Yogic Buddhism. Her classes blend several styles, including Power Vinyasa, Iyengar, Restorative, Shadow Yoga and Kum Nye (Tibetan yoga). Having also studied Yoga Therapy and Yoga for Athletes and Sports Injury, Simona emphasizes safe alignment and mindfulness, and designs her classes to create the balance of muscular strength and flexibility necessary to prevent and heal injuries. |
