'The Oakland Dojo'

The Aikido Institute is one of the longest-standing Aikido dojos in the Bay Area.   In the 70s and 80s, our dojo in Oakland, California was part of a growing Aikido scene in California, and became known for its connection to the teachings of Morihiro Saito Sensei (1928-2002), who was the Founder's personal student in the town of Iwama, Japan, for over 20 years, and who visited our dojo in Oakland on numerous occasions.
